Established in 1733, the Manzushir Monastery is located 15 km to the south of Ulaanbaatar in the southern valley of the Bogd Khan Mountain. Although most of the developments were destroyed around 1937 by the then communist government, the main monastery has been restored as a museum after Mongolia’s transition to a democratic political regime in 1990.
